The theatrical premiere of five shorts at MAMI Select: Filmed on iPhone by five next-gen filmmakers mentored by Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Rohan Sippy, got an astounding response. Filmmakers Archana Atul Phadke, Prateek Vats, Faraz Ali, Saumyananda Sahi, and Saurav Rai create visually stunning and layered narratives using an iPhone. MAMI Mumbai Film Festival launched a special programme ‘MAMI Select: Filmed on iPhone,’ last year during the festival, wherein a talented group of emerging filmmakers from MAMI Alumni were given the platform to reimagine traditional cinematic conventions by creating high-quality short films, shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max and edited on a MacBook Pro. Six months hence, these five shorts had an exclusive theatrical premiere that was attended by top talent from the industry such as Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane, Rohan Sippy, Shakun Batra, Radhika Apte, Shabana Azmi, Aditi Rao Hydari and fiancee Siddharth, Gul Panag, Jim Sarbh, Kabir Kha

The Premiere of the Netflix Original 'Chamkila' was a glitzy affair

Netflix hosted the premiere of Amar Singh Chamkila, in association with the prestigious MAMI Mumbai Film Festival on April 8th 2024, in Mumbai at PVR Dynamix, Juhu. The event was graced by the director Imtiaz Ali and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films, Netflix India and the screening was followed by an interactive session between Sucharita Tyagi, film critic, and Imtiaz Ali. The premiere evening was attended by over 300 film enthusiasts including director of Amr Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali along with Shabana Azmi, Mrunal Thakur, Sunny Kaushal, Daisy Shah, Mahima Makwana, Avneet Kaur, Pratik Sehejpal, Piyush Mishra, Sheeba Chaddha, Bhuvan Bam, Mrunal Thakur, Zanai Bhosle, Ajaz Khan,Moses Kaul, and Rohan Shah amongst others.
